Core Expeditions is a specialized travel company. Programs are designed to immerse the traveler into the raw beauty that is Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands both off and on the beaten track.  We develop unique and adapted programs for different types of travelers – young families, older travelers, people with disabilities, hikers, kayakers and simply curious visitors.

Our MISSION is to provide you with an opportunity to experience the incredible biological and cultural diversity of this small country in the spirit of exploration, cultural immersion and personal growth. Professional Guides – Our guides are chosen for their level of expertise in a given region or activity, are certified in wilderness medical rescue and provide exceptional personal service.

Part of Core Expeditions' agenda is to provide or make accessible guide training to local Ecuadorian guides to raise the guide standards of Ecuador. Core Expeditions trip leaders have extensive training in outdoor leadership, and communication skills, wilderness rescue and medical techniques.

Local Economy – We employ locals at competitive wages, choose accommodations that have cultural and historical significance and/or are active in nature conservation and education.

Guide Training – Core Expeditions sponsors medical rescue courses such as the Wilderness First Responder and Swift Water Rescue for local Ecuadorian guides in order to raise the guiding standards in Ecuador.

Leave No Trace – We follow a policy based on the nonprofit organization Leave No Trace. We endeavor to make as little impact on the areas we visit.

Education - Programs are designed to encourage leave-no-trace attitudes, leadership, confidence, understanding of the local culture and a respect for nature.
